Two days of this year's Deutsche Bank Championship are in the book. And for the second consecutive day the one thing everyone is talking about is the weather.
I know that I should be knocking on wood as I say (or type) this, but we've had absolutely beautiful weather thus far for Championship Week. The sun shined bright again today and the slight breeze kept everyone comfortable out on the course.
It was also ideal conditions for our annual Deutsche Bank Kid's Exhibition. The stands at the driving range were packed with area youth as they watched members of the Pinnacle Long Drive team and paraplegic golfer Anthony Netto show them everything from they need to know to hit a golf ball… and a lot more.
Pinnacle Long Drive team members Jason Zuback, Eric Lastowka and Jamie Sadlowski showed of their length while also performing some great tricks shots (you should've seen them hit a golf ball straight through a watermelon)! Anthony Netto proved that the most important thing in golf has nothing to do with being able to walk. Anthony was paralyzed from the waist down in a car accident years ago but built a special wheelchair that allows him to "stand up" and hit a golf ball, most times further and straight than you and I. Certainly an inspiration to watch.
Another highlight of the day came at the signature par-3 16th hole when reigning British Open and PGA Championship title holder Padraig Harrington holed his tee shot for a hole-in-one. I'm told Harrington called it a day after that, wisely heading to the clubhouse with an ace in his back pocket!
Many of the other top TOUR golfers took to the TPC Boston course for the first time this week in practice rounds. Some will hit the links again tomorrow for the Championship Pro-Am, this time teamed with some of the biggest names in business, sports and entertainment.
Thursday will be the final chance for the field to tune up their games as Friday they'll begin their quest for the Deutsche Bank Championship trophy and their share of the $7 million prize purse.
If you haven't had the chance to get here yet, make sure you do. Obviously, there's some great golf being played that you don't want to miss!
