Baldy's Blue Notes - September 7th
Posted by Eric Baldwin (09/07/2009 08:29AM )There just one day remaining in this year’s Deutsche Bank Championship and there couldn’t be any more excitement at the top of the Leaderboard.
Sixteen players are within four shots of the lead heading into the final round with Steve Stricker, Retief Goosen and Sean O’Hair locked in a three-way tie atop at 13-under-par.
The great golf that we’ve seen all week has been matched by incredible weather. Sunday was cool, dry and comfortable for fans and Monday’s forecast calls for plenty more of the same.
Sunday at the Deutsche Bank Championship is always one of my favorite days of the tournament as we conclude the day with our annual Sunday Celebration. More than 1,000 of our volunteers gathered on the main lawn in front of the TPC Boston Clubhouse as Sean O’Hair opened the event by thanking the volunteers and singer Michael Cavanaugh entertained the crowd.
Linda Bean’s Perfect Maine provided incredible handmade lobster rolls while Back Bay Restaurant Group cooked up some mouth-watering barbeque ribs.
As usual, it was a great party and our way of saying thank you to the massive group of volunteers that make this Championship possible.
I’m really excited for Monday’s final round. Golf begins early with the opening tee time at 7:35 and the leaders will hit the first tee at 1:40 p.m. Once again, NBC will provide television coverage beginning at 2 p.m. for those who can’t make it down to the TPC Boston.
